The company currently has a great opportunity for individual candidates to work on a temporary basis with the opportunity to go to a full time position as an Assembler at our Vapor Bus International division in Buffalo Grove, IL.

In this role, you will assemble and test multiple styles of front and rear bus door electrical and pneumatic actuators. You will work from blueprints, electrical wiring diagrams and Process Standard Sheets (PSS), Team Leader and manager instructions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Use computer to pull up latest drawing of actuator to be assembled.
  • Use pneumatic tools, hand tools, electric tools and torque tools to attach and properly secure a wide variety of components and subassemblies to a base plate.
  • Test components and/or final assembly as called for in the PSS. Adjust components as needed and certify quality of assembly or sub-assembly.
  • May fabricate components to be used in the final assembly such as teeter lever or engine housing or components. Some of these operations may involve light machining and light welding.
  • May operate a variety of bending machines to form a wide variety of bends on aluminum extrusions which will serve as bus doorframes.
  • Referring to a blueprint, uses ruler, tape measure, gauges and veneer to select correct rail size and slot configuration, to select correct bend machine(s), to perform the correct bend or multiple bends and to verify accuracy of bend.

  • One to three years experience.
  • Ability to use measuring instruments, simple drawings or print to build align and adjust components.
  • Ability to plan and perform diversified work.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
